How do you make your soap?
Our soaps are made using the "cold processed" method which requires no external heat in order to saponify.  Saponification is a chemical process, which converts a fat into soap by reacting with an alkali commonly known as "lye". This method also allows the finished soap to retain the natural glycerin that is created during the process.  If you are interested in soap-making, feel free to email us with any questions you might have.  One of our favorite resources is the "Natural Soap Book" by Susan Miller Cavitch.

What is "super-fatting"?
This means that the oils have been left in the soap unconverted by lye because oil was added at the trace stage after the mix has saponified.  The method of adding additional, nutrient-rich oils to the soap mixture after it has saponified moisturizes and soothes your skin. 

Do you test your products on animals?
Of course not.

What ingredients do you use?
The freshest all-natural ingredients that we can find.  You may find all the ingredients of each individual product on the store page, by clicking on the product picture.

What is your shipping policy?
The shipping rates are as follows.  Shipping is not a money-maker for us.  We pride ourselves in having some of the lowest shipping rates in our direct market.

What is the shelf-life of your soaps?
Generally speaking, our soaps will last for 18 - 24 months.  The soap itself will last longer than 2 years, but the scent might be lost by then.  As with all natural products, it is best to use them up as you receive them.

Do you carry a facial soap?
We highly recommend Tea Tree or Lavender.

What is your Privacy Policy?
Prairie Soap Company, LLC respects the privacy of visitors to our website.  We only collect information that is pertinent to offering our customers the best in quality and service. We do not collect personal information from you, unless you voluntarily provide it to us.  We do not sell the names or addresses or any personal information about our customers to third parties.

What is your Return Policy?
We will be happy to refund your returns if you send us the items un-used and in re-sellable condition within 30 days after you received your purchase. Please contact us via email or phone (816.352.8206) to obtain a return authorization. On all returns you are responsible for all freight costs and we will refund your money once we obtain returning goods.
